Why Blending Facility?
- SAFuels X refinery will produce SAF via the HEFA-SPK (Annex A2) process.
- Max Blending Limit: 50%
- Currently, no blending facility terminal is in the Bakken region.
- Building a blending facility onsite would:
- Enable SAFuels X to blend their product
- Create an area regionally where SAF can be blended
Crush Plant Overview
- SAFuels X refinery will start up on RBD soybean oil
- Pretreatment unit (PTU) to be constructed when funding is available
- Pretreatment Capacity: 7,000 BPD
- Refinery being constructed with other feedstocks in mind
- Once a pretreatment unit is constructed the refinery can handle:
- Crude vegetable oil (ex. crude soybean oil)
- Used Cooking Oil (UCO)
- Tallow
